A cute vintage terracotta owl by Francesco Messina from Caltagirone, known for its ancient ceramic culture. As a symbol of wisdom and good luck, the owl is often present in Sicilian homes. This piece is hand crafted and painted in traditional yellow, aquamarine and red on a crackle glaze. A lovely gift idea!

Condition: Very good. This figurine is in very good vintage condition with very minor wear to the glazing. There are no cracks or missing parts. Any difference in color or texture is a testament to its hand-made nature. Signed by the ceramicist Francesco Messina.
