A late 19th-century small giltwood Italian rectangular mirror. The frame is gilded gesso on wood, with a concave striped design, between a leaf-moulded outer edge and a fine beaded inner border. It retains its original thick glass and wooden backing board. Love the authentic patina on this elegant piece. Very pretty in a hallway, bedroom, or on a gallery wall!
Found in Toscana.
Condition: Very good. This mirror is in very good vintage condition with some wear and losses to the gilding and gesso consistent with age. A section of the leaf moulding is missing along one side, which has been gently glued. (See detailed images). The glass is in good condition with very minimal foxing and marks. The frame is strong.
