Vintage terracotta handwarmers

These decorative hand-made terracotta 'Scaldamani' or hand warmers were used to warm the hands of ladies in the colder winter months. Filled with boiling water, they held the heat for some time afterwards. Decorated on both sides in yellow and red, today they make a unique accent decoration. 

Originally from Caltagirone, Sicily. Found in Arezzo.

Condition: Excellent. They are in very good vintage condition with only slight signs of use on the bottom. There are no chips or cracks.
