A vintage vase by the ceramic artist Fernando Rava (1907-1987). His early work was produced in Faenza where he focused on re-interpreting medieval patterns and designs, using the 'sgraffito' technique. This large terracotta matt glazed vase is a lovely example of this work, with cobalt blue, brown, yellow, and aquamarine colors on a white background. Signed at the bottom. Gorgeous on its own or with flowers.
Found in Imola.
Condition: Good. This vase is in good vintage condition, with some minor fleabites along the rim. There are no cracks or breaks in the ceramic. Any difference in color, texture, or shape is a testament to its artisanal production. See detailed images.
