This style of candle holder is called a 'bugia' in Italian. The name comes from the time when candle wax was imported from the Algerian town of Bejaïa/Bidgiaya, famous for its beeswax since the Middle Ages. These candle holders, made exclusively for us in small batches, are made by hand in Palermo, Sicily, their simple glaze emphasizing their beautiful shape.
